Ramadan Days
Prophet (ﷺ) Reported
“There has come to you Ramadan, a blessed month, which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has enjoined you to fast. In it the gates of heavens are opened and the gates of Hell are closed, and every devil is chained up. In it Allah has a night which is better than a thousand months;whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived.”
[Sunan an-Nasa’i]
Dua (Prayer/Niyat) at the Beginning of the Fast
نـَوَيْتُ صَوْمَ غـَدٍ عَـنْ ا َدَاءِ فـَرْضِ شـَهْرِ رَمـَضَانَ هـَذِهِ السَّـنـَةِ لِلـّهِ تـَعَالىَ
Nawaitu sauma ghadin anadai fardu shahri ramadhana hazihissanati lillahitaala
I intend to do obligatory fast tomorrow in the month of Ramadan this year because of Allah
Dua (Prayer) at the End of the Fast
اللَّهُمَّ اِنِّى لَكَ صُمْتُ وَبِكَ امنْتُ وَعَليْكَ تَوَكّلتُ وَ عَلى رِزْقِكَ اَفْطَرْتُ
Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa alayka tawakkaltu wa ala rizq-ika-aftartu
O Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You and I put my trust in You and I break my fast with Your sustenance
First Ashra
- يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيْث
Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum! Bi rahmatika astagheeth - اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِيْ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحْمِيْن
Allahumma arhamni Ya Arham-mar-Rahimeen رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
rabbighfir warham wa anta khairur-rahimeen
- O Living and Eternal Maintainer! By Your mercy I seek help!
- Oh Allah have mercy upon me, O Most Merciful
- O my Lord ! forgive and have mercy and thou art the best of the merciful one
Second Ashra
- أسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبي مِنْ كُلِ ذَنبٍ وَأتُوبُ إلَيهِ
Astaghfirullah rabbi min kulli zambiyon wa atoobu ilaiyh - الْلَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ ذُنُوْبِيْ ياَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْن
Allahummaghfirli zunubi ya rabbal alameen - رَبَّنا فَاغْفِرْ لَناَ ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرعَنّا سَيِّـٔاَتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنا مَعَ الأَبْرَارِ
Rabbana faghfirlana zunoobanaa wa kaffir anna sayyi aatinaa wa tawaffanaa ma alabraar
- I intend to do obligatory fast tomorrow in the month of Ramadan this year because of Allah
- O Allah forgive my sins, O Lord of the worlds
- Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and remit from us our evil deeds and make us die with the righteous
Thrid Ashra
- اَللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّار
Allahuma Ajirni minan naar - اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allahumma innaka `Afuwwun TuHibbul `Afwa Fa`fu `Annii
- O Allah, save me from the fire.
- O Allah, you are the Forgiver, You love to forgive, so forgive me
Fasting is one of Five Pillars of Islam
“Islam is based on Five Principles and to observe Fast (according to Islamic Teachings) during the month of Ramadan is one of them.”

Umrah during Ramadan is equal to Hajj
“When Ramadan comes, go for Umrah, for Umrah in Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj.”

Gates of Heaven are opened
“When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.”
